Fly Deluxe SSS?

Post by vaya »

I found pictures of a Fly with three single coils. I knew about an early prototype, but not a production model. They don't show up in any of the catalogs.

Fly Deluxe Single-3 and Single-2 (S2)

Post by vjmanzo »

Ken and his associate both told me that the Deluxe Single-3 (S3) was something you could order, but they didn’t sell many—they didn’t sell many of the S2 either, but these were more common than the S3. The S2s do come up for sale every so often. I only know of one owner who has an S3, however, and it’s the very one you’ve pictured, which is definitely not a prototype. I’ve gone back and forth with her through the years about this particular instrument as I personally think it’s one of only a handful that were made if not the only production one ever made.

Apparently you could also have one in HSH. I guess that would be the elusive Single-1.
