I posted this on the original forum 20+ years ago.

This Nu-trol Control cleaner has lube oil in it so that the pots have a super long life with no reoccurrence of the "dry scratchie pot" syndrome. I use a piece of surgical/medical tubing to slip over the pot shaft snugly and then spray a shot of this into the tube. With a little wiggling, the cleaner travels down the shaft and onto the wiper/track assembly inside. And, yes, it's pricey but it's the best I've found (just like the Parker Flys). Amazingly, it's for sale on Amazon (click the link at the bottom of the link page).

Thanks for the endorsement, @Soloaxer. I hope I can remember to give this a try the next time I need to replace my can of DeoxIT.

Glad I could show you this little gem.

On a similar topic... I just purchased a Nitefly that's has a scratchy volume knob pot. All of the videos I've seen on YouTube about using Deoxit or something similar - show it being very easy to access where you're applying the lubricant. I removed the back plate and don't have clear shot/site of where to apply 🤔
Am I going about it wrong? Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Voxbobby22—would you be able to attempt what @Soloaxer described in the original post?

I could yet but not sure I can access "pot shaft" or that I even know what that is lol. I have very little experience doing anything INSIDE of the guitar but trying to learn.
