string gauges

Post by igor »

Hello all -

I recently purchased refined mojo (used) and I am kicking myself that I didn't buy one when the company was in business! Wow, what a guitar.

I do have a question for anyone that might know the answer. The guitar came with .009 gauge strings, but I would like to go up to 11/12. Is it safe to do so on these guitars, given the "leaning post problem" described elsewhere? Yes, I purchased the correct spring from ebay.

Just curious if this is dangerous to do or not.

Hi @igor , welcome to the forum, and congrats on your Mojo!

Yes, you can switch string gauges without issue as long as you switch springs as well. The Leaning Post issue is not common.

As you begin to get familiar with the unique aspects of your Fly, you may find this post helpful.

Thank you very much for that. I am looking to buy another one of these so I can use lighter and heavier strings. Thanks again.

Happy to help, @igor. Remember: the best sounding Parker is the one you’re gonna buy next
