the Fly Clone Project

I was bored and looking around online at Parker P36's last night and came across a lot with "used-good", "used-excellent" descriptions with some wear and tear, all at prices well over a grand. Saw one for a few hundred less and was surprised to see it was listed as "used-mint". It's overseas so shipping wasn't cheap, but not ridiculous for a guitar. I made an offer on a whim, knocking a little off but figured they'd say no since others had made offers. Woke up to find a "your offer has been accepted" email. D'oh!!! From the serial number, it looks to be an Indonesian 2007 model, and listed as "blonde". Looks pretty nice from the photos. Here's one from the sale:



One thing I noticed from the back photo was changes from the 2004 Korean model I posted on here not long ago that I bought. Anyone have any idea why they changed the battery location and the plastic access panel shape? Maybe the battery was moved to do away with some of the drilling for wiring passages through the body, putting it closer to the pickups and electronics. I noticed the staggered ferrules too. It's no big deal, I'm just curious. There's a LOT I don't know about the Parker guitars, but it's been interesting reading posts on here from you all about things you know about them.



It's supposed to ship out this Monday, and I'm anxious to get it and check it out. Hope it survives the long trip unscathed!

Thanks! I'll post better pics when it arrives. It's coming from Italy, and the tracking estimate says the 9th, but I'm not holding my breath on it getting here that fast.

It DID arrived as quickly as tracking estimated, and arrived today. Damn, it IS mint, save for minor scratches on the pick guard and the chrome of the neck pickup from playing, but nothing to write home about. The rest of the guitar body and neck is immaculate. I am glad I took a chance on it. I'll get some better pics of it to post. Now to find a case for it.
