Nitefly question

Back in about 2008, I bought a (very) lightly used late-1996 NFV1. Sunburst, immaculate condition, original Levy's case, original stereo cable (!), original Fishman NiteMix (!!!). My idea was to have something where I could blend a piezo and mag PU for playing jazz, but that looked a bit more traditional.

I never, ever bonded with this guitar.

Now, don't get me wrong. I love Parkers; I've lusted after a Fly for years, and I have a PDF70 that is a favorite (yes, yes, I know...).

My 15-yo son is now playing guitar in a serious way. The other day, he said to me "You know, you never play your Parker. And the very first guitar you ever told me about was a Parker Fly. You should sell that and get a Fly instead."

And I thought, "He might be on to something there."

So here's my question: If -- hypothetically -- I had a minty V.1 Nitefly with all the period-correct goodies, are there people out there who might swap that for a Fly (possibly with some $--> in the deal)?

I know this may sound like a naïve question, but this seemed like as as good a place as any to ask it, and in any event I have no pride. :P

Being as I forgot to do so when you first announced yourself: Welcome to the site!

It's hard to say what anybody might consider fair in trading a Nitefly for a Fly; on account of the resale market largely consisting of people pretending their beater examples are appreciating in value every day. I think your best bet would be to post this offer in the Classifieds subforum (I can move this thread there, if you like), and also list your Nitefly for sale in the FB groups or on other messageboards, with the disclaimer that you'd prefer to trade for a Fly with the option of cash to make up the difference.

Thanks, for the welcome, and for the information. I'm happy to leave this thread here -- I'll take a peek at the classifieds and perhaps post over there, as you suggested. I'm still not 100% sure I want to sell, although I'm leaning that way.

Thank you again.
