the Fly Clone Project

I just purchased another Nitefly and I absolutely love it! I want to swap out the pick guard as it's the only thing that SHOWS ANY wear. Is it complicated? Should/could I attempt it myself or do I need to take it to a shop? I don't know anyone here - moved a few years back from the area that I knew EVERYONE. So I either do it myself or trust someone I don't know
Thoughts? Any info/comments would be greatly appreciated.

First off, @Voxbobby22: Congrats on scoring another Nitefly - That's the healthiest way of dealing with the first one having ruined other guitars for you. Hopefully we get to see it, soon.

Assuming you're just swapping the pickguard for an identically cut one, it's as simple as taking the strings all the way off the guitar, unscrewing the pickguard screws and setting them some place where they won't disappear down a black hole, then transferring one component at a time to the new pickguard by loosening potentiometer nuts and being careful to not send any springs holding the pickups on flying when you unscrew one side all the way. The only tricky part is if whoever wired it up at the factory didn't give you much slack to work with; increasing the chances of one of the wire connections breaking while you're tugging on it. In the event that prospect makes you nervous: The job is no more difficult or involved than swapping a Stratocaster pickguard - Which means that any competent guitar tech in a store should be able to do it in a few minutes, if you provide the replacement pickguard along with the guitar.

Thanks for the response. I may try it myself and if it seems too much I will take it to the local guy. Parker didn't do anything simple or easy lol. Probably why I like them so much! If the pickups weren't attached to the pick guard anyone could swap it out. That's probably why they did it this way - to prevent people that don't know what they're doing from working on such a quality instrument! Thanks again.
