Re: Help! Wiring question!
I think you might be on the right track, but reading the switch diagram wrong.
Maybe the resolution of your printer has made a few connections where there are none, the top row and bottom of the switch do not connect, they are electrically isolated.
These switches work/connect like below, where the arrow signifies connection.
Two b7's in the bottom row because those two points connected/jumpered in the schematic, so effectively one:
b8 <- b9 b10
b7 <- b7 b6
and
b8 b9 -> b10
b7-- b7 -> b6
so b9 connects to b8 or b10
b7 connects to b6 or not to b6
b7 doesn't connect to b9, b10 doesn't connect to b6
So directly connect:
b7(plug) to b6(vol)
b9(plug) to b10(vol)
...might work. Then there's b8 to wonder about....
Anyway, that's what i reckon!

Well cover me in eggs and flour and bake me for 40 minutes! G.man music had a switch and are mailing it to me! Yes! Hopefully this will sort it.
On another topic, how do you remove the ribbon cable connector from the circuit board?

Re: Help! Wiring question!
.... Removing the white cable connector from the board really requires a specialised tool that will heat all the pins/solder at the same time.
Otherwise you could heat bits and slowly prise it off, but i wouldn't recommend that approach.
Why do you want to get the cable connector off?

Re: Help! Wiring question!
I was hoping it would just unclipped so I could give it a clean, but if it's soldered then I'll leave it

Re: Help! Wiring question!
Still awaiting the mono/stereo switch, once that is installed I'll do some continuity checks, see what else has gone wibble
