Wanted: midiaxe software for mac and PC
Wanted: midiaxe software for mac and PC
I have a gray Parker MidiFly, original case, midiaxe "dongle" (small box that connects between midi and the guitar) and the power supply for that. But I've lost the original midiaxe software discs. That software is needed to program the midi, however it is so old that it may not run on and recent operating systems. But I might be able to get it to run on a virtualized version of an old OS. Anyway, I might want to put this guitar up for sale, but I would first like to get a copy of the software and see if I can get the midi working. I'm willing to pay - either for discs, copies of disks, or ISO files. Thanks.

How awesome is that…
Brian Moore guitars used to have midi with this setup too. Possibly they can help with any issues.
Also might be worth converting to a more recent setup like graphtech, though I confess to being unaware of the finer details and actual plausibility of such a process.

Re: Wanted: midiaxe software for mac and PC
It's doable. FWIW, the Boss GK5 pickup feeding the GM800 unit (1.20 firmware version, as of this posting) currently performs the most accurate guitar-to-MIDI conversion, with the Fishman Triple Play performing the fastest conversion. Until someone in the vguitarforums community does the necessary R&D to ensure hexaphonic piezo setups can be used with the GK5's A/D converter input, piezo setups will require a 13 pin preamp feeding an outboard GKC-AD converter (which is what I'm currently using with my RMC PolyDrive-equipped Fly). So far as I know, there isn't currently a product offering a 5 pin DIN-out on the guitar itself which performs as well as the Boss and Fishman gear.billy wrote: Thu Apr 03, 2025 9:23 pm Also might be worth converting to a more recent setup like graphtech, though I confess to being unaware of the finer details and actual plausibility of such a process.
