Piezo silent in Stereo Mode

Post by ubik55 »

When I have my Parker Fly in stereo mode (red button in the "out" position") I noticed my piezo stops working/goes silent. It works normally in mono mode though. The magnetic pickups work fine in all modes. Is the piezo behaving like this abnormal? And if so does anyone have an idea for a solution? One thing I should mention is that I do not have a stereo cable, I am using a regular old mono guitar cable to test everything.

That seems normal. In "stereo" mode, the piezo signal is outputted to the "ring" lug of the jack (instead of being summed in parallel with the buffered mag signal on the "tip" lug, as in mono mode). When using a mono (T/S) cable, that "ring" lug would be routed to ground (producing no signal, as you're describing). You require a T/R/S (Tip/Ring/Sleeve) stereo cable running into two amp inputs (or one input at a time) to know for certain if your Fly's stereo switching is working as it should.
