Serial Number Info for Parker Fly, NiteFly, Fly Bass, and Other Parker Guitars
Re: Serial Number Info for Parker Fly, NiteFly, Fly Bass, and Other Parker Guitars
I'm having trouble verifying my Nitefly Mojo.
I assume from the examples listed on this forum that it is from May of 2006.
But there is no P before the numbers and there are 7 numbers.
All of the posts I've read indicate there should be either 5 or 6 numbers.
So I'm confused. Hope someone can enlighten me. Thanks.
The serial number is 0506013 USA
The guitar is Trans red bolt on neck HH with pick up rings and active Piezo.
3 knobs 2 toggel switches.

Hi @Noodleboy—it’s a 2006 NiteFly M as you suspected. The NiteFly M with pickup rings had already emerged about that time (see 2004 catalog). The additional character is, I believe, the 0 to designate ‘06 whereas NiteFlys from the ‘90s did not include the 9 when representing 1998.
I don’t recall if the P designation that USM introduced only applied to Flys, but regardless, 2006 was the first year of that serial indicator, but it’s not present on all guitars made in 2006.

Question and sorry if I've missed something... But do the Dragonflys carry the same 7 digit code as the rest of the flys? I have a DFR 522 with 1012009 as the serial, any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

I don’t know that we have this information, but it’s possible—are you thinking that your DFR 522 was made in 2010? I don’t recall: was that model made in Indonesia—if so, did you see this post?
Re: Serial Number Info for Parker Fly, NiteFly, Fly Bass, and Other Parker Guitars
Thanks for the info... So, what this may be is 1012009, 2010 Dec, 009? ninth guitar in Dec. It was bought as a 2010 NAMM show guitar. I thought it might be brilliant to get a Parker with a FR, as I wanted something to play live without worrying about bringing out my more expensive guitars. I'm not sure how these play with the Parker vibrato, but I'm sorry I chose the FR. It's not a bad guitar, but it feels like a toy in comparison to my '98 Classic.
EDIT: Above I stated it was bought as a 2010 NAMM Show guitar. I opened it up today and found a card that says "Congratulations on your 2011 NAMM show purchase". Makes sense, I believe 2011 NAMM was in January.

Re: Serial Number Info for Parker Fly, NiteFly, Fly Bass, and Other Parker Guitars
Good afternoon all!
I was going through my guitars and thought I'd like to know more about my Parker, but info is hard to get. It led me here, and i might be a bit more confused than before. I'm pretty sure it is, like a previous commenter, a 2011 NAMM show one off. I can't find another Parker like it. Serial number 1011062. Is all the info i can glean from that is the manufacturing date?

It seems to be a NiteFly Radial as shown on page 11 of the 2012 catalog.

Re: Serial Number Info for Parker Fly, NiteFly, Fly Bass, and Other Parker Guitars
Thanks for the response! It is that same neck as the radial series, but made in USA and a completely different body from those.
But!!! That did lead me to the 2013 catalog, its an RF522! And if the serial number dates are correct, then that explains why it was a NAMM model from two years before the catalog year it was actually released. If the serial number decoding isn't correct then I'm not sure!

Re: Serial Number Info for Parker Fly, NiteFly, Fly Bass, and Other Parker Guitars
Did Parker keep records of how many units of each different Fly variation were produced in each year?
Re: Serial Number Info for Parker Fly, NiteFly, Fly Bass, and Other Parker Guitars
Too bad. Parker's 2001 Price List states "All Parker Select guitars are available in limited quantities this year - no more than 50 units of each will be shipped in 2001." I would guess this means that fewer than 50 Fly Concert models (for instance) were made in 1997. I'd love to find exact numbers.

Re: Serial Number Info for Parker Fly, NiteFly, Fly Bass, and Other Parker Guitars
I have a Bronze Fly from 2008 with a curious serial number. I'm the original owner and I ordered the guitar from Sweetwater. One thing that might explain the weird serial number is that I had custom ordered the guitar black - a color it wasn't generally offered in (though I know others exist) - anyway, the serial is this:
P0801240US
So, if I'm reading it right it's a 2008 guitar made on January 24th
08 - the year
01 - the month
24 - the day
but then there's that final 0... which would normally be the order of production. But it can't be the zeroth guitar completed that day. So, my question is: am I reading the serial number wrong or did my custom color ask create a whimsical serial number?
On the back of the headstock near the Fly Guitar logo, it also reads BSS for Basswood neck, Sitka Spruce body.

Help identifying
Hi all. My friend has this guitar he's had for a few years now his father gave to him but we're having trouble identifying it. The serial is 0407233USA.
Re: Help identifying
Welcome. Two years ago (almost to the day), someone (presumably your friend) inquired about that guitar without giving any info other than the serial.Savanna.llewelyn wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 9:19 am Hi all. It's a NiteFly Mojo model, which first appeared in the Parker catalog in 2004. The format I've seen other owners use to identify that model from the era of production using that serial format is MM/YY[XXX=production number]; indicating that it is the two hundredth and thirty third guitar produced in the month of April, 2007 by the Washburn Custom Shop in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Disclaimer: I'm merely going by the format I confirmed other owners of NiteFly Mojos with seven digit serials using to date their guitars; and will be mistaken if they were.
