Fly: Fact or Fiction?

Post by Voice Of Reason »

Greetings,

I remember in the old forums that some members mentioned that Ken Parker (supposedly) stood on the neck of a Parker Fly (as it was resting between two chairs). However, I have not seen any evidence of this.

I thought some people might have confused him with Ned Steinberger who actually did this:

Does anyone know if Ken (or someone else at Parker) ever did this (as a promo or not)? It sounds quite different from the few Parker advertisements I have seen the 90s.

P.s. I am not going to try it myself…though you have to say it I really drives the point across.

I can confirm 100% having asked @Ken Parker personally that he never did anything like this. In fact, there was a rumor that Flys were indestructible, which he detested because, obviously, they’re not.

People were most likely recalling the Steinberger demo—thanks for linking that! Very cool! 😎
