Adrian Belew Elevator Tour
Adrian Belew Elevator Tour
Adrian Belew will be in Atlanta at the end of the month. I don't venture into the city often, but the wife and I might venture out for this one. What say you? Brave the drive through the hood and back for a night out, or stay home with the kids?
Re: Adrian Belew Elevator Tour
Think of Adrian as the kid you don’t get to see as often!
He always skips my city. Supposedly, this tour is two sets with an intermission. Ade also claimed that he’ll be playing his latest strat(s) (in addition to the Fly), in hopes this will encourage Fender to sell a Belew sig model. But considering how the Fly rig works, I don’t see how he could use both without losing half the controllable parameters of his floorboard.

Re: Adrian Belew Elevator Tour
After looking closer at the venue (Atlanta City Winery), it looks as if it's a small assigned table seat type place. NOT my favorite way of seeing a show. I much prefer general admission so I can creep the stage and actually see what folks are playing. I'm on the fence, I'd like to see him, but can already tell the venue is a kill joy. Maybe I'll just head to the area and catch him outside for a quick chat.

Adrian is playing the Bearsville Theater here in Woodstock come August.

Him, Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto put on a Rock and Roll camp in Big Indian and after that week put on a show somewhere with some of the campers. It's usually a very good evening of music and the musicians make themselves very tangible. Adrian has unfortunately switched back to the stratocaster though.

I was afraid of that. He did an interview, recently, in which he complained that he simply cannot get spare parts for any of his Flys; and needs the strat to take over as much from the “MIDI rig” as he can get it to.

Re: Adrian Belew Elevator Tour
Strangely it's not even the '69 he normally played, it's two new ones.

He plays this area a lot as the guys he plays with live here. He seems to favor the red one over the blue.
