ISO - P38 Battery Cover and trem bar
I recently pulled my old p38 out of storage with intentions of fixing it up. I'm looking for a replacement battery cover and trem bar. If anyone has any info on some used parts or know where to source parts that will work I would be forever grateful. Been looking for years, but its only getting harder to find parts. Thanks!
Re: ISO - P38 Battery Cover and trem bar
I'm fairly new here but think the P38 was made right at the transition from Pre Refined to Refined 2003ish??
if the tremolo arm is round it would be this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/173628804133?h ... SwX61ZLBWB
If it's hex or six sided it could be acquired here viewtopic.php?f=16&t=411
As far as a battery cover I would have to see the opening in order to suggest an alternative
WI Guitar or G Man Music MIGHT have it too??

Hey thanks for responding. I've been asking this question for years and no one has responded. Heres the pictures as requested or battery cover and of trem hole.
Re: ISO - P38 Battery Cover and trem bar
The tremolo arm appears round from your picture with a polymer bushing which is slightly out of round on the inside from use..
The bushing can be replaced with a new one by loosening the set screw by using the trem arm & allowing access or when you change the strings..
Mike G. @ WI Guitar/G Man Music has both of these parts as I just ordered one of each from Him.. He sells on eBay & Reverb..
Trem Arm
https://www.ebay.com/itm/173628804133?h ... SwX61ZLBWB $27.50
Trem Arm Bushing
https://www.ebay.com/itm/174704296087?h ... SwBXxfMlff $17.60
The Battery cover is like nothing I have seen but could be made by doing a rubbing with paper & pencil & cutting it out transfer that to template = paper plate & poke the screw holes with a pencil & use that & a piece of pickguard material or a back plate or other black polymer material which you would cut close & file the edges smooth & drill + taper the screw holes to look factory + Find a couple of screws at the hardware store the right size & length.
I would also glue a thin piece of foam on the backside to keep the battery from moving around..
The plastic could be found on lots of stuff, Even Trash of an old TV set or record player etc. Endless possibilities..
Closest cover I could find by googling eBay was for an Ibanez but different
Ibanez Battery Cover

Make your own for a perfect fit..

Did you manage to make a battery cover after all? I ask because I've just bought a P-38 with the same cutout/ cover and could photocopy it (with a steel rule for scale) so you could use as a template if you like?
