Mine will do that when the 9v battery is crapping out. Try replacing the battery

I bought a used P-44. It is a honey burst, flame maple top over a mahogany body. I've looked through all the catalogs and the only burst option I see listed is in the 2003 catalog, which lists a tobacco burst which looks like this: 2003 parker P-44.JPG . Here's my guitar with honey burst: P-44 body....
