Re: Tremelo Arm Bushing

@mmmguitar you’re the best - thank you for that informative post, that makes so much sense, I knew I was missing some info on the mechanism. I think this is going to push me to install my Ghost saddles that I’ve had sitting around. This saddle install will be easier than last…

Re: Tremelo Arm Bushing

Would a loosened set screw should allow for a low-friction rotation (e.g. freefall)? Or, is that not possible?

I’ve not experienced that issue myself. I suppose it’s possible that the set screw is stripped/worn. Are you able to take it out and examine it?
Yeah, I will take a peek later!

Re: Tremelo Arm Bushing

The arm fitting snuggly within the bushing is not the problem that I am talking about - I’m talking specifically about the bushing itself moving when it is not snuggly tightened. I am trying to keep that bushing tight, but allowing the arm to freely rotate.

Tremelo Arm Bushing

I have been struggling to get my pre-refined trem arms working as I would like them to function. The issue that I am having is that the bushing is consistently too loose, which allows for the bushing pivot collar to move each time I use the trem. This causes unwanted noise during use, plus it’s ...

Re: Stock '98 Fly Classic Sounds thicker/fatter then my Stock '95 Fly Classic?

I had the same experience when comparing my two Deluxes (both with Gen 2s). The neck pickup in my ‘99 had a ‘tinny sound’ compared to my ‘98.

It just so happened that the neck pickup in the ‘99 was significantly lower than the one in the ‘98. I adjusted the neck PU in the ‘99 so that it was flush ...

Re: Electronic issue

Well, this issue has resurfaced/evolved. When in mono mode (button in), the sound is normal for the first minute. However, a hiss begins to develop and then the sound becomes pretty distorted (think 8-bit fuzzbox guitar tone) and reduces in volume.

If I switch to stereo mode, the distortion is gone ...

First non-Parker guitar purchase since 2006

As mentioned in a FS thread, I have been wanting an ‘ergonomic’ guitar so that I can play at a 45degree angle. I was considering an Abasi, but I couldn’t snag one in the last two drops and started looking into Strandbergs.

I posted a few pics on this post https://www.reddit.com/r/strandbergguitars ...

**SOLD** 2011 Mojo

It pains me to sell this one, but I need to to fund an ergonomic guitar to alleviate back pain when playing in a seated position.

Here is the listing, will sell to FC members for $2150 net (plus shipping).

Re: Concidering Graph Tech Ghost in Fly Deluxe

I finished the job! It sounds great and these saddles have noticeably less friction than the USM variants.

I ended up soldering the Ghost summed output to the pre-existing, shielded black wire that was still soldered onto the board. The black Ghost output was soldered to the shielding ground and ...

Re: Concidering Graph Tech Ghost in Fly Deluxe

Another thing puzzling me is how that shielded wire was soldered to the underside of the bridge - Was there a track the Fishman element leads were summed to which was isolated from a section the wire shield was soldered to?

Like so:

Re: Concidering Graph Tech Ghost in Fly Deluxe

I thought that these two terminals are equivalent, but they are not. Terminal “A” is a ground. Should the summed output be soldered to “B”?

Re: Concidering Graph Tech Ghost in Fly Deluxe

Decided to quickly test before making final solder. Got it all strung up, flipped to piezo only, held the last wire on the board’s terminal and, alas, no sound :(

I have the black summed saddle wire grounded onto the common ground anchor, have the black Ghost summed wire soldered on the bottom-far ...
