Re: 1. Outside Tour Reeves Gabrels Fly Guitar
(I seem to recall @dayn or someone else having a tangerine Deluxe with only RMC saddles as pickups). Indeed I did - back when there was a Custom Shop I ordered a Deluxe in Tangerine, hardtail, no pickups or controls, empty control cavity. I then had RMC saddles added with an 8-pin DIN jack. Nothing...

Re: WTB: Supreme, Artist, or some such instrument
At least I know you will not turn it into a "Parkenstein" like one or two of our other beloved members would do… I’m pretty sure @jb63 and @dayn would “Parkenstein” that 🤬 without hesitation! 😛 I wouldn't touch a mint Artist (anymore, maybe a decade ago), but I would definitely modify a B...

Real world use of the new Fly Flex Ribbon Cables
Writing a post to share about some real world use of the new Flex that the VJ Fly Clone team put together. I recently completely re-worked a Parker Fly Stealth - it used to have an onboard GK3 kit, plus RMC piezo/synth via outboard preamp - the only DOUBLE-MIDI Fly on the planet, to my knowledge. I ...

Re: Pre-refined Sustainiac installations - photos wanted!
The Sustainiac board "might" be able to fit underneath the Fishman. I haven't measured. Also, here is a link with a pic of a Fly Axel Rudich did for me way back, showing how he re-positioned the stock preamp board. https://www.mylespaul.com/threads/fs-ft-parker-fly-single-2-with-lipstick-p...

Re: Pre-refined Sustainiac installations - photos wanted!
This will be going into my Dusty Black, which already has a GK-2A installed. My "poor man's Belew" as it is. Would be great if you could show current pics of your Dusty Black control cavity. Would help to see what real estate is now gone with the GK (assuming it is internal) to calculate ...

Re: Hello! Long time Fly Supreme owner, just found this forum! (And need a little help...)
Happy to share - what do you want to know? I'd love if you made a thread in the Rig Rundown section just boasting about some of your projects. I was thinking I'd build a 5E3 kit, then start modding it into my arbitrary concept of "Dumble" territory (not planning to reinvent the wheel - Ju...

Re: Odd fly
@Ken Parker actually called me before about this listing commenting on those unusual screenshots. Was Ken concerned about the guitar, or just found the screenshots of the conversation odd (which it is!)? And who is this supposed "biggest Fly collector in the world"? I wonder if I've inter...

Re: Hello! Long time Fly Supreme owner, just found this forum! (And need a little help...)
mostly building tube amps these days Cool! I’ve been telling myself I’ll attempt an amp build once the Axe FX IV is announced (to see which I’d rather commit to). Anything you’re willing to share? Happy to share - what do you want to know? Building amps is fun, but it took me a long time to wrap my...

Dayn hasn’t been by the board since February Just checked in today, haven't been on guitar forums in a while (mostly building tube amps these days with occasional guitar stuff mixed in) - I'll try to adjust my message settings, so if anyone has any Fly questions or repair needs I can respond quickly.

Re: Stereo-switch Button Housing
I've searched for a replacement before and never found an exact fit. Maybe the original part number is in the fine print of Parker docs or schematics somewhere?

Re: WTB Parker Fly Ribbon Cable
Where in the PNW are you? I'm in Seattle if you need help.
Got a picture of inside the Fly to see if the ribbon is actually damaged? I agree with others that is unlikely and it is another wiring/soldering issue.

Re: Odd fly
That's a Parker Fly Deluxe Standard. The "Standard" designation is for the original pre-refined Fly's which were non-piezo. I've had three Standards, fun guitars!

Re: P90 Pickups
Is it a set with the Charlie Christian neck and P90 bridge, or both are P90's? All black bobbins, or ?? Got pics? I sent Pete a set of Fly pickups back in 2008 so he could trace the bobbins and make Fly pickups. The first set he made was a P-90 bridge and CC neck, that went into a green hardtail Fly...

+1 on USPS Priority Mail, I've also had good results with them.
On the insurance cap thing, this morning I just shipped a vintage Strat (that I had reassembled for someone after a refinish) to Hawaii via USPS Priority Mail, and they were happy to take $59 to pay for $4,000 of insurance for it.

Re: Fly modding service
I'm glad the tech was able to get the signal working by replacing the jack, though if the battery is over-draining, then it isn't fully fixed yet, even if you plan to get power from your pedal board. I'd want to track that down so it was running right regardless. Sometimes techs unfamiliar with Fly'...

Re: Fly modding service
Hi BD, I am in Seattle. People ship me guitars all the time to work on, but that is up to you. Could be a simple fix for them, but unsure without seeing pictures or hearing more of a description of what specifically is happening with each. Send me a message if you want to chat about the Fly's. -Dayn

Re: Pre Refined Parker Piezo Audible But Quiet
I opened up the Fly, and the electronics aren't stock. The ribbon was bypassed with several wires, so I think that is gonna end up being the volume drop culprit. Something isn't wired correctly or there is a bad solder connection in the guitar.

Re: Pre Refined Parker Piezo Audible But Quiet
I have the guitar in hand relating to mmmguitar's question. When red button is in mono mode, the magnetic and piezo sides have equal output, both individually on the blend switch and when on together. When I engage the red button to stereo mode, the magnetic side on its 1/4" has the same output...
