Re: I'm looking for a Speaker Impedance Workaround ( with July 12 Update)

July 17th Addendum: All of this has worked out exceptionally good for me. My huge surprise was my choice for Emimence Texas Heat speakers. The enhanced voicings for my Artist, Deluxe, and Mojo running these speakers with solid state has completely blown my mind!!!

I rest my case. :o 8-)

Re: I'm looking for a Speaker Impedance Workaround ( with July 12 Update)

After exhausting everything under the Sun for an answer, I have a reasonable accommodation for this OHMS mismatch.

A 4 OHMS speaker wired in parallel with an 8 OHMS speaker will produce a 3.428 OHMS impedance to the amps speaker output leads. It does not matter which of these two speakers is first ...

I’m not shipping the guitar, so I won’t bother videoing it for you.

His keyboard slipped—he actually meant to type…

Thanks for the interest. I’m not comfortable shipping the guitar otherwise I’d consider taking a video for you. Best of luck.

Re: Looking for a Fly bronze

I have also desired a Bronze and have tempted my self for a few years now. What you might want to consider from a "woods tone" position is that the Artist is the very same woods construction. Besides peizos in common, it's got all the rest of the electronics. I agree that the Bronze looks "off the ...

I'm looking for a Speaker Impedance Workaround ( with July 12 Update)

True confession: "I screwed up!" Stepping out of the Deep Bandini pile, I'm looking to get cleaned up with a little advice. I wanted to run my Parkers through after market speakers for more enhancement. I knew the impedance rating of my amp and it should have been the very first thing to consider ...

Re: Anyone Know What these Markings Are?

What looks familiar for me is Wo# which can typically in other industries relate to "work order number". 123279 is possibly/probably the work order number. The only thing I can add to that from the visual aspect is that Wo# 123279 appears thicker and leads me to think that this was notated before or ...

Re: Battery kill switch ideas

For the entry level Parkers with pick-up surrounds, I have seen some surrounds with a small slide switch incorporated into it. I can't remember where I saw them but I believe they should still be around. Also, D'Addario incorporates a kill switch on the end of a cord and yes they are pricey. I'm not ...

Rocket Pickups

Has anyone installed Rocket pickups in their Fly? I bought a VERY pricey handmade custom axe from RH custom guitars that has Rocket pickups installed. OOOuuuhh! These give a very precise and clear sound. They are not high power and are for players that want what I would say are higher power old ...

Re: Parker Wood and Tone Comparison and Fly Model Comparison

Nice comparison thread, VJ!

My '99 Ruby Red Deluxe weighs in at 5.6 lbs. (without battery). My '06 Italian Plum Mojo weighs in at 6.7 lbs (with battery). My '97 Artist weighs in at just about two potato chips (scary light!).

Yes I agree, the Artist is alive with overtones taking you to dreamland ...

Plug-in Battery Tester for Active Electronics

There is this great product if you can find one. It is the Keith McMillen Batt-O-Meter. It's very small and besides testing all kinds of small batteries, it has a short cable with a 1/4" male connector to slip right into you input jack and it will test your battery just like that. Coolest thing ever ...

Re: Help identifying flat spring size

I had measured my pre-refined springs for a 97 Artist and a 99 Deluxe some time ago. The difference I saw was in the width of the springs and not of the length or thickness of material. If this is the case with all production runs of original Flys, then I thought it was an ingenious way to handle ...

I'm short on time right now, but read up on a Myers Cocktail. It's an i.v. infusion therapy that has done more for my bodies inflammation and general health than it has any business doing.

Hey Patzag. Good to hear from you.

Carpal Tunnel Relief

I'm sure there are others in the Fly Family who have carpal tunnel besides me. Having trouble feeling what string your plucking or what fret you're on? Well, that was me for a long time. In desperation, before surgery, I experimented and came up with a technique that works. Just for a preface here ...
